From 54f2c0f254844ccddc0cb2a304ec869021dbba31 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Leonardo de Moura Date: Thu, 31 Dec 2015 20:20:39 -0800 Subject: [PATCH] feat(library/blast/forward): inst_simp should use the left-hand-side as a pattern (if none is provided by the user) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit The motivation is to reduce the number of instances generated by ematching. For example, given inv_inv: forall a, (a⁻¹)⁻¹ = a the new heuristic uses ((a⁻¹)⁻¹) as the pattern. This matches the intuition that inv_inv should be used a simplification rule. The default pattern inference procedure would use (a⁻¹). This is bad because it generates an infinite chain of instances whenever there is a term (a⁻¹) in the proof state. By using (a⁻¹), we get (a⁻¹)⁻¹ = a Now that we have (a⁻¹)⁻¹, we can match again and generate ((a⁻¹)⁻¹)⁻¹ = a⁻¹ and so on --- library/algebra/field.lean | 3 +- library/algebra/group.lean | 38 ++++++++++++---- library/data/list/basic.lean | 14 +++--- library/data/nat/basic.lean | 19 ++++++-- library/data/nat/sub.lean | 2 +- src/emacs/lean-syntax.el | 3 +- src/frontends/lean/decl_attributes.cpp | 5 --- src/library/blast/forward/ematch.cpp | 2 +- src/library/blast/forward/pattern.cpp | 43 ++++++++++++++----- src/library/blast/forward/pattern.h | 4 ++ tests/lean/interactive/consume_args.input | 6 +-- .../consume_args.input.expected.out | 26 +++-------- tests/lean/run/blast_meta_bug.lean | 2 +- 13 files changed, 105 insertions(+), 62 deletions(-) diff --git a/library/algebra/field.lean b/library/algebra/field.lean index 76d62f3ca..4005daf5f 100644 --- a/library/algebra/field.lean +++ b/library/algebra/field.lean @@ -84,7 +84,8 @@ section division_ring suppose a = 0, have 0 = (1:A), by inst_simp, absurd this zero_ne_one, - by inst_simp + assert b = (1 / a) * a * b, by inst_simp, + show b = 1 / a, by inst_simp theorem eq_one_div_of_mul_eq_one_left (H : b * a = 1) : b = 1 / a := assert a ≠ 0, from diff --git a/library/algebra/group.lean b/library/algebra/group.lean index 499ec45d8..398abaacc 100644 --- a/library/algebra/group.lean +++ b/library/algebra/group.lean @@ -9,7 +9,6 @@ Various multiplicative and additive structures.
